New place in Damascus MD
He’s only been open a year but has been growing the grapes sine ‘04. They only have 3 reds and the blend is sold out.
We tried the 2021 Rose which is made w chambourcin, the 2021 Merlot and the 2021 Cabernet Franc
We’re not big rose drinkers and the first sip we found to be pretty sweet. By the 2nd and 3rd sips (gulps in my case – dammit), it grows on you. Not bad really. If you’re a rose drinker
The merlot had a divine nose and is delicious. We definitely got the cedar and licorice and a bit of the raspberry.
But the cab franc really stood out. It has rhubarb in the description but we both have no clue what rhubarb tastes like. Definitely vanilla on the nose. I got some caramel. Really good
Very small and the back porch can get crowded and a little too close. I think we were a part of every conversation.
All in all, a nice place that has a lot of potential for growth
