Duke – 2018 cab franc. Very smooth. Mild, kelly tastes the raspberry. He thinks something is odd about it as a cab franc but he can’t put his finger on it. Ah, it’s a little heavy for a cab franc
Riva didn’t think so in the heavy part but I’m not too crazy about it
Charles – 2018 varietal merlot
Kelly thinks it’s a little in the sweet side but I differ. Oh. Now he’s changing his mind; it’s not as sweet after one or two sips. Still, nothing to write home about
La Famiglia 2018 – blend of cab franc and merlot
It’s smooth and nice, pleasant enough, a little light for a Bordeaux blend.
2nd Act – blend of cab franc, cab Sauvignon, merlot and a touch of petite Verdot
By far the best of the batch. Kelly thinks it’s very tart. I thought it was smooth. He’s saying crabapple and I’m saying, well, not sure
All in all, this place has been open only two years. It may be good somewhere down the road but for now, we’re going to keep exploring
