Per their website: We are a Virginia farm winery specializing in producing European-style wines from French varietals grown in Virginia’s climate and soil. The winery is beautiful with adirondak chairs and picnic areas. The photo for my website is actually at this winery!
Let’s discuss their wines…
2018 Cab Franc – Per Kelly, Bordeaux varietal is spot on. A little young but tasty. While it’s a very nice sipping wine, it’s no doubt better w food. Here’s a good word – Grippy. Kelly tastes a lot of white pepper plum (?). After tasting the others and coming back, I’m liking this the best. Nice spice and very smooth
2018 Petit Verdot. Yum! Little bit of a bite. Vanilla and black cherry. Kelly really wants me to mention he cited virginia ham, bacon and charcoal. What?
2018 Melange Rouge – I do not like the nose at all. Very musty. We both do not care for this wine. Almost like they put dishwashing liquid in it. I think it tastes like an old barn
2018 Cab Sauvignon – I really prefer this over the others. *Note, I said this before I went back to the Cab Franc Red cherry, strawberries. Not as traditionally deep as a regular cab.
