Pretty neat site. We went here when we were in Berrysville VA and decided to stop in. Here’s our take:

2018 Captains Cuvee – An estate grown GSM blend that is our take on Chateauneuf Du Pape.. Medium body, ruby color. Notes of black cherry, currant, oak, vanilla, and clove. Long finish. 43% Syrah, 43% Mourvedre, 14% Garnacha. – Kelly thought it was too oaky and cloying on the first taste but then he thought it was ok. I thought it tasted like bug spray.

2018 Cab Franc – Hmmmm, I really like this. Kelly says, oooh, nice spice. We’re buying some of this. Here’s their description: A medium-bodied wine with savory, dark fruit flavors, a touch of spice, medium-high acidity and mouthwatering taste. Complements everything from pizza and burgers to steak and Italian foods.

2018 Petite Verdot – Dark ruby in color, blueberry and blackberry on the nose followed by forest floor. Black plums, cherry current, oh, vanilla and baking spices. Long finish. Aged in French and American oak. Weird aftertaste. Like it hasn’t been finished. We thought it’s just a young wine.

2018 Rhapsody in Red – this is what they say: A rhapsody is an instrumental composition that evokes happiness. Our Rhapsody In Red is a composition of different red grapes blended to produce a soft, fruity, easy-drinking wine. We tasted subtle hints of rhubarb and red plumbs as well as white pepper. It’s really a delicious wine byt has a strange aftertaste. I do like it though but we’re not buying this today

2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve – aged for an extra year in American and French Oak. Notes of Black currant, plum, pepper and baking spices. Earthy with a touch of leather and vanilla. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Oh, Kelly really digs this one. I think we’re buying it. Completx tannins and just the right hint of spice. I just love the nose.

2018 Tannat – Deep purple, dark and inky. This one exhibits snake leather and vanilla. Yup. we said that. Current and black cherry with a subtle hint of nutmeg and coves. It’s really a very good tannat.

Port syle wine. It’s ok. Doesn’t seem to have the brandy bite to it

All in all, super nice people and declicious wines. They love dogs and have a little pond where the dogs go swimming. The week-end we were there was Mutt’s week-end so there were about 25 mutts there. Albert would have loved this place.
