A boutique Loudoun County (VA) winery. New ownership as of August, 2021, however the former owner is still the manager and winemaker. We were there in August, 2019. Thinking we may have to go back!
Furnace Mountain Red which is their signature estate-grown field blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Classic fruit nose with solid tannins from both grape and barrel. Per Kelly: it’s good. (a man of many words)
Cabernet Sauvignon – made with Virginia grapes. Excellent. Very smooth and dry. Just like we like it.
Cross Country Red was smooth and very nice though I wasn’t that crazy about the taste. I’m looking at their 2021 website and I don’t see this on it at all. Either they changed the name or agreed with me!
