Per Arterra: Nestled on a beautifully wooded estate, Arterra wines promises a distinctive wine experience. Ancient techniques integrate with modern capacity to produce a progressive clean wine, intended to be a truly authentic “Virginia Style” wine. This is done with native yeast fermentations, neutral oak and no additives. This really was a beautiful setting.
All the wines we tasted were 2019
Cab Franc – Per Kelly, “It’s good; I like it”. White pepper spice. Subdued. A little tart for a cab franc. Nose is good. A little young
Petite Sirah – yum! Delicious! Kelly is head over heels
Trilogy is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Fer Servadou, and Petite Verdot. It’s a Bordeaux style blend. I really like this. Hard to determine the flavors as I just ate some Greek food. Kelly said it’s very bold and tasty w. hints of black cherry, leather and vanilla. He likes it too.
Petite Verdot – Full mouth feel. Description is a lush finish and it’s definitely accurate. Kelly said velvety to your tenants. Hahahhaaa.. i thought it was too sweet.
Amphora Petite Verdot is way too tart. Per Kelly, almost medicine like.
