Way out in Middleburg; beautiful country!

2019 Trellis – 75% cab franc & 25% merlot. Definitely cherry . They claim to have star anise and baking spices but we can’t find it. It’s great tart.  it’s ok but it’s a little too tart for me. Not smooth at all. 2nd sip wine found the baking spices on my palate

2018 Trellis – 53% Merlot 33% cab Franc 7% Marbach and 7% petite for Dale. Hahhaaa. *Note, I’m dictating, not writing. 7% Malbec and 7% petite Verdot. Still cherry forward but can’t really find anything else. Smoother but still too tart

2019 topiary – 67% Merlot, 18% cab Franc, 15% petite Verdot. I like this much better as it’s a smoother wine. It’s a warm mouth feel, though I’m not dining a distinct taste. We picked up the fruit and plum but said the tannins we’re nonexistent

2019 Reserve – 58% Merlot, 42% cab franc. Ahhhh. Yes. Per box with commas aromas of vanilla, fake preserves, and light tobacco. A smooth texture with noticeable but the sure tanning. Good mouth feel with notes of bright fruit flavors; olive black pepper black plum. Finishes clean with licorice tones.. If I could find any of that it would be a small miracle, but I like it. We found the tobacco and also got earthy tones. I think he’s being a snob. He said, wow  I’m looking for the licorice but can’t find it at all

We’re sitting in the car room Which apparently is disinfected with chlorine bleach. It’s a little overpowering and messing with our senses in our tastes.

Probably won’t be back.
