Waaaaay out there in the bowels of Virginia. We decided to do a flight of 4 wines
Popham run red 2017 – a little tart on the tongue. Nothing to write home about. Kelly thinks it’s very jammy, almost too sweet for a dry red
Petite Verdot is outstanding . Love the nose. Smooth and silky. Not tart at all. Also not too heavy. Per Kelly, soft tannins with a velvet finish. Southern complexity. Subtle and not glaring
2017 Cab Franc – smoother on the tongue but still young. Nice finish. A little complex but will age well.
2014 Cab Franc is amazing. Very smooth. Love the finish, nose and taste. Right balance of tones. Deep and smooth start to finish
