Forever Farm

Very quaint place; brand new build. The owners and staff are extremely personable and very, very nice. I think we laughed the entire time we were there. It helps that the owner (who is also the winemaker) is from New Jersey. Glad he’s making wine in this region and not Jersey!

2020 Chambourcin – floral with earthy undertones. Served chilled which we liked. Very nice drinking wine. Definitely soft. Kelly got pepper; I got a very very light chocolate

2021 Chambourcin – very smooth and silky. A little sweeter per Kelly (wait – he noted something is sweet?). Definitely drier. Still very good. Per their notes, there is an undertone of anise, licorice, leather, chocolate and mocha. It’s a nice red one

2021 Cab Franc – Definitely green bell pepper. I wasn’t that crazy. Needs more depth and aging.

2020 Red Barn. This one is 59% Chambourcin and 41% of cats wrong. Nope. Not fixing that. *Note – I am not typing but rather dictating*. Smooth and well rounded. Spicy nose. Complex finish plays out with a cherry licorice and surprise. I definitely got the cherry licorice. Hello. Didn’t like this one very much at all. It was way too jammy, sticky, greedy. Suffice it to say, the bf didn’t like it all that much either. But that’s ok

2021 Boykin Blend – This one is 39% Chambourcin, 31% merlot, 15% pinot noir. Bordeaux style blend. Kelly wasn’t a fan. I was listening to the winemaker and forgot if I liked it or not

2021 Norton – Yum! I liked this. It’s a 95% Morton grape and 5%Quartz Creek Merlot. It’s a deep dark purple wine with notes of holiday spices.

2021 Visione – LOVE LOVE LOVE. I want to go home to North Jersey and order a pie. This one is 40% Sangiovese, 26% Geneva red, 22% noriet and 5% carmenere. It’s a medium long finish, warm and full and well balanced.
