Hidden Hills Farm & Vineyard

Wines, vines and equines. Fairly new Maryland winery in Ijamsville. Stunning views.

Warm blood – 29% Cabernet franc, 29% Sarah, 14% petite Verdo, 14% Cabernet Savignon, 14% chambourcin – Kelly gets black cherry, cinnamon, anise, belt leather. I got plum. Really very smooth and delicious

Estate blue roan chambourcin III – 80% Chambourcin, 15% tip for Joe, 5% cab Franc – I found this to be a little tart and not much depth. It says black cherry, leather and cacao but I didn’t find that at all Kelly got the leather and black cherry. He found it tart also. Almost aggressively so.

2019 Baron – 42% petite Verdo, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Syrah. – blackberry, vanilla. Little tart. I’m not that crazy about it.

Kelly said civil twilight and I asked what flavor is that? Apparently it’s the time of day.
Sigh

2018 Bay Roan Reserve – 50% Syrah, 25% Cabernet franc, 25% petite Verdot. I definitely found elderberry. It’s smooth, very soft leather. Kelly found plum but he doesn’t know to look for elderberry.
Note: I have no idea what elderberry tastes like. I just read the description and thought I’d be cool
