June 13, 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is their “lightest” red. Delicious with smooth tannins. Kelly is being a jerk – he said “it’s a really nice wine”. He does like it. Tastes black cherry and spice. White pepper bc he doesn’t like black pepper in his wine Norton- very smooth, enjoyable Merlot – yummy White meritage – full mouth feel. I got a pear taste. Nice summer wine 2016 Harrison house – amazingly smooth. Nice blend. I really like it Cabernet franc – not as peppery as we like 2016 Carmenere – kelly is head over heels w this be. Wants to buy 2. I think it tastes like bug spray Meritage – I’m really enjoying it. Nice drinking wine. Not much depth but still 6/13 2019 Albarino – I think it’s kinda sweet but kelly likes it as a summer wine. I imagine this would be excellent w a blue cheese and something tart 2018 – Petit Verdot – omg. Love the nose. Dry with black cherry notes. We really both liked this 2016 Merlot – lot richer, deeper and red grapes. Almost manishevitz grapes. I find it pretty sweet 2017 Meritage – strawberries per kelly. I found it to be more plummy. Kelly is saying red or pink rose petals. I have no clue who he is. I wasn’t fond of the nose 2018 Chardonnay – Even before tasting a Kelly decided he didn’t like it. Not too buttery but crisp and light. I like it. Kelly did not like it at all; said it’s everything about a Chardonnay that he doesn’t like 2018 meritage – very very tart. Crabapples maybe. Way too young. Better w food 2016 – Cabernet Sauvignon- I really (really liked this. So did kelly. We actually agreed Harrison – first taste was 100% strawberry. 2nd taste was actually very good. Kelly thought it was his 3rd favorite. His first 2 are cab franc and petit VerdotPer the manager, Zach, we drink the wine very well. We engaged him in conversation and got a few extra tastings We joined the wine club November 21, 2021 Came back for our pick up. The people here are really incredibly nice. They just opened a new event space which is lovely but loud so Kelly and I came down to the house and are sitting here drinking wine. 2017 Harrison House, Nose is baked blackberries, I knees, earthy. The pallet is juicy with notes of blackberry jam. And the finish is smoothies with toasted Oak and caramel. I’m just reading I did not make that up. Kelly wants me to definitely say that because he thinks otherwise I’d be getting all the credit. Regardless, it’s pretty good. 2020 Benoni Red Blend All right so the paper says the nose has pencil shavings I swear to god it says that, Coco and cherry. Palette is red fruits hints of raspberry cranberry and the finish is fruits chocolate and soft tannins. Kelly can’t find the pencil. I really love him. I’m not terribly crazy about this. Just a little too tart for me 2019 Petite Verdot So we have Cedar and coffee notes on the nose. The pallet is dark fruits and Clove with bright tenants. And the finish is dry tea and black currant. Kelly thinks it’s way too tart 2020 Cab Franc is just a taste of goodness. White pepper on the nose and a decent spice |
